I remember paying in the region of 35c in Cyprus, it's always been really cheap over there and when I first got my driving license it was 76p per gallon back in England. It is all tax that we pay, which is why petrol stations rely on what they sell in their shops.

Yes Kate, those were indeed the good old days and when my Grandfather drove around in his Hillman Hunter, still in pristine condition today, the car, not the Grandfather

Actually , at this point we are exporting oil

    No trying about it

Only wish politics didn't play such a huge role in energy strategy etc.

    It's ridiculous.

I would guess your fracking will be hurting your Canadian friends to the north and their tar/oil sands.

It's all very scary Putin has finally lost his rubles and I don't think anyone can stop the Russian Bear now, not even that American kitten, Obama.:

    Environmental costs are likely.
Instead of doing so much fracking get off your fat arses and make some short journeys on foot or without the internal combustion engine. You will also see some health benefits from exercise. These comments are directed at all people worldwide.
To all producers of West Texas Indicator crude,
Hang on in there coz the price will invariably rise again at some stage-just as night follows day.
Several (many !!!) millions of Chinese are abandoning their trusty bicycles in favor of an automobile ...

: Never before seen smog chokes cities ; People dying , people advised to stay indoors if at all possible.

Tell them to return to the bicycle !! For their health !! : Human nature. 'Progress'.

In the more developed countries there is a resurgence of Eco-friendly outlook and national policy even :

Eat local , ride to work , dedicated bicycle routes and lanes , etc.

Rest of the globe will take decades (if not a century) to turn the same corner. By then likely be too late for significant change.

Yeah, The drive to Dublin from Limerick certainly costs a lot less these days and just looking forward to going it down below €1.29 which means I have more money available to pay my escort ladies in Limerick!!
