The small towns around Ireland will be worst affected by this law. The women from those towns would love nothing more than to point their fingers at poor blokes, calling them scum. In reality demand will nose dive. What married man with children would risk that type of publicity? Irish men I know have a totally different view to your Swedish clients.

As for your comment about the hotel. It surprises me that someone in your position is so naive in their opinion. Of course the hotel would prefer not to involve the police, and just deal with you themselves. No hotel would want such publicity. As I said up coming journalists love these types of story. I would wage a bet that you're blacklisted from that hotel, which in itself should tell you something.
Thank you for being rude and call me naive. Irish guys are different then 'my' swedish clients? Everybody is different darling so in what way you was thinking? And swedish guys have families ... And NO I,m not black listed as somebody else rented for me the room on his/her name. Smart boy u are !(or girl i could guess) and a last question: do u hate escorts? Its seems to....

There's no need to get all defensive just because I have a different opinion than you. Calling you naive wasn't exactly rude! I was simply pointing out a fact as to hotels worldwide are managed, and I stated that I would've expected an escort to understand that.

Of course I don't hate escorts, what gave you that idea? It's not me bringing in the new law, and I don't think it's fair. I'm simply speaking as a realist!

I've noticed many escorts saying things like, the client will be just paying for time, they can pay through PayPal so there's no cash transaction, how can they prove why I'm with a client, ect, ect. But it's not really about if you can get away with the charge once caught, it's getting caught in the first place! As I said, how can a married man with children risk something like that? Do you realise anything that happens in the public domain in Ireland can be printed in the press, unless you're a minor? So freelance journalists will have a field day with this, court journalists are also free to write about the days events, whether you're found guilty or not.

I can understand you being upset about this as you're going to have to cancel almost all of your work in Ireland, but don't start taking a valid point I made out of context and accuse me of hating escorts, it's probably you that was rude.

I'm simply looking at the situation for what it is, and that may be an objective view compared to an escorts one, but it doesn't mean I'm wrong.

    Have a good day

What make u to believe i will cancel all my work here in Ireland? Why do u think that u know what other people will do? Dont be so judgemental this show u what limited thinking u have. Many guys regulars or not to girls will continue to visit them favorites believe me. We will find a way dont worry about this. About hating escorts i have read some of your posts and this make me to think like this. U tend to judge other people only because they have different tastes ( and here i,m talking about that 'nasty' word for girls who do OWO) is not your right to judge people who do things wich u dont enjoy. If you consider us , the escorts who offer OWO nasty maybe here is not your right place to be between 'nasty' girls.
Are u journalist or something? Only they are so sarcastic

Well in fairness I don't know what you'll do, regarding working in Ireland. But I would guess work will nose dive, I'm not being judgemental in a personal way, I just have an opinion. Remember an opinion is an opinion, one can't be wrong, you or me.

If escorts and regulars find a safe way to continue working, then great. I never objected to that, I simply don't think the industry will remain the same. I also don't think many men (with certain lively hoods to risk) will continue to visit escorts.

Again, I don't hate escorts. My comment about OWO, is again my opinion. I said escorts who offer such service put themselves and clients at risk on a daily basis, and that's a fact. And yes I do believe that to be nasty.

No I'm not a journalist. Maybe if I was I could write a very broad and objective article as opposed to bias rubbish that holds no substance in any article.

I genuinely didn't mean to rattle you, but isn't this a real discussion about a real problem? Surely asking the right questions is what's needed.

Absolutely no doubt that this law will put a lot of clients off and unfortunately for escorts, they are likely to be the more agreeable, well behaved clients. There will be some with nothing to lose family-wise, others who see a fine and exposure as an occupational hazard or who may even enjoy the element of danger, but generally speaking most are going to retire for exactly the reasons that Curious K outlines above. Public exposure might not matter in London or even Dublin, but for the smaller places in Ireland, this will be a huge deal.

Having said that, Sweden still has a considerable number of sex workers who are clearly getting business, so there will be ways around even the toughest laws. Frances Fitzgerald's stated aim that she doesn't want sex buying to be ''normalised'' will almost certainly be achieved, so it will be a win for the moral crusaders. However the naivety of Lord Morrow's position, that somehow this will eradicate human trafficking (the coersive, violent type rather than economic migrancy) is going to be exposed and he's going to need every spin doctor he can buy to convince anyone that it's worked in three years time.

    2014 in Northern Ireland:

Number of reported attacks on sex workers 70

Number of sex trafficking cases ZERO
