No, journalists are far too lazy for that, they really don't know anything about the scene to make that distinction.

My question is; has blurring the lines between agency escorts and independent escorts an allowing everyone to advertise as independent made it easier for the media and torl to make these ridiculous claims?
To answer your question, the answer for me is no. The newspapers and so call authoritative experts on this subject have made up their minds that all girls who are willing to follow this lifestyle are trafficked. If all workers had to give a blood sample and sign in and out before "work" each day this viewpoint may likely remain.

When I was referencing material for a press release, my friend was helping me edit it and he told me: "I feel like a real journalist looking for the sources" and I replied to him: "Journalists don't do that anymore."

Some people have to have the last word,
but they don't actually want you to stop talking,
as they like the sound of their own voices too much.

the sunday tribune was one of the better papers and went bust because they wouldnt talk about celebrity shite and had generally top notch journalists who said it as it was (in general). Instead we are left with the sunday independent with their stupid magazine with stupid celebrities who have achieved nothing in life. That magazine makes me want to kill......again
The Sunday Independent was opinion piece drivel even 30 years ago.
