Also, you counter a letter like this - superficially well written but devious and one sided - by pointing out the flaws in their arguments and the "surveys" they quote.

What can we punters do to keep the pressure on TD Wallace and his another fellow deputies to keep the pressure and momentum on the minister to look at alternatives to illlegalisation

This initiative by this TD is very good but you have to remember is that he is an independent and unfortunately is not really taken too seriously by the main parties but at least he can make noise and he is trying to help
