Hard to tell but you would think so. It,s hard to imagine that you would be jailed for renting an appartment.

I think it is because he knowingly rented an apartment to be used for brothel keeping. if you read the article there was more than one lady and more than one client in the apartment and also the landlord admitted to knowing it was being used for this purpose. I doubt he had anything else ro do with it from reading the article. xx

It means if he does anything wrong in the next two years he will go to prison for the eight months. Until then he is free.

There was one time I got asked to leave a Hotel by the Garda when I was meeting an escort there.
One Garda (female) in particular really had a go at the escort, and to be fair, the escort gave as good as she got.
What she (the Garda) was complaining about was that she was a foreigner and not that she was an escort. It got so bad that one of her colleagues had to subtly suggest that she tone down her language.
I have often thought that part of the problem with escorts in this country is that a lot of them are "foreign". I lot of people think we didn't have sex in this country until they arrived.

I said it "tends to be racialised", especially as the article points out it was foreign girls using the apartments.

And again, the other woman was from Brazil like Kate has pointed out. The gardai can also threaten deportation of the woman if they didn't admit to the offences.

Whenever raids happen they tend to go foreign girls.
