We Irish are the great emigrants of the world and we've brought so much good to every corner of the world as a result . Initially though most societies treated the Irish as scum who were idle and untrustworthy and the perpetrators of criminal acts. Now we are famed in all corners of the world for our literature, music, good humour and yes.....our industriousness!
Given time our new immigrants will help create a better society as indeed they've already done. Look at the rich growth of diversity in Irish society in recent times. Sadly, though it appears every society needs a sub-class. Ask the Travellers!
By the way, there was absolutely no crime in Waterford before these few immigrants arrived!!!!
Strangely the crime statistics doesn't support the thesis of those protesting - outside a single family's house. Power to the mob!
Questions can be asked of all sections of our society. Can anyone argue that it is worthwhile to march on a family home in Waterford where no protest ever raised a peep against the actions of our banking fraternity?
Is it only Roma who are unwelcome immigrants? The vast majority of our escorts come from abroad and have been made welcome here. But if it were known to their neighbours that they were sex workers would they too be subject to the baying mob?
Hate is an ugly personality trait and never justified.
While this thread is running there is a huge moral majority willing to impose their views on the world of Sex Workers. I'd argue there is little balance to their argument but that won't stop them.
So, it is interesting but sad that three escorts thanked your post.
The same people attacks the Roma family would be the first to also ask:
Are all escorts here legally?
Do all escorts declare their entire income for taxation purposes and therefore fully contribute to our society?
