We were discussing the Roma, who by their own declaration are their own race. I think you will find that they are given assistance. If you are an EU member state then you are obliged to offer it, at the local rate. There's a a good reason certain countries are more attractive than others to migrate to.

I once had to sit at home doing nothing and drawing the dole. So many of my family and friends at the same time were forced to seek work abroad - I was lucky. I stayed and since then I've - also luckily - managed to create a large number of jobs. We Irish are the great emigrants of the world and we've brought so much good to every corner of the world as a result . Initially though most societies treated the Irish as scum who were idle and untrustworthy and the perpetrators of criminal acts. Now we are famed in all corners of the world for our literature, music, good humour and yes.....our industriousness!

Given time our new immigrants will help create a better society as indeed they've already done. Look at the rich growth of diversity in Irish society in recent times. Sadly, though it appears every society needs a sub-class. Ask the Travellers!

By the way, there was absolutely no crime in Waterford before these few immigrants arrived!!!!

Strangely the crime statistics doesn't support the thesis of those protesting - outside a single family's house. Power to the mob!

Questions can be asked of all sections of our society. Can anyone argue that it is worthwhile to march on a family home in Waterford where no protest ever raised a peep against the actions of our banking fraternity?

Is it only Roma who are unwelcome immigrants? The vast majority of our escorts come from abroad and have been made welcome here. But if it were known to their neighbours that they were sex workers would they too be subject to the baying mob?

I am intelligent enough to comment on something I have knowledge of, which are the Roma families who have moved into the cities very close to my village. I've seen first hand how bleeding heart liberals have cynically played us all into a situation where we can no longer so much as object to the filth we are seeing without the fear of being labelled racist. I'm not a racist, I'm a realist.
