I never really liked Christmas - it is the over commercialisation that ruined it for me!
Watching people panic about what to buy people - not because the want to share gifts but because society has pressurised them into it.
Then in recent times I really feel for the small kids - many parents are struggling with bills etc. and can't afford expensive presents for their children - meanwhile the kids next door whose parents have not been hit by the recession as bad can buy their kids what they want for Christmas. How do you explain that Santa can afford to spend more on the kids next door while your kids will have to make do with what you can afford? This is not fair on the kids IMO
I also have to spare a thought for all the ladies who have given up so much fun and enjoyment through out the year who will be spending Christmas away from their family and real friends. Most people who have family want to be with them on Christmas day - not stuck in an apartment in a foreign country thousands of kilometres from their loved ones.
Sorry if I sound very negative towards Christmas but we must remember it is not all sparkle and joy for everyone - for many it is the saddest time of the year
