When it comes down to it, I think that 'cheating' is anything you don't or wouldn't tell your partner about, as you know it would upset them, or be seen as some sort of betrayal of their trust any of your relationship together. It doesn't have to go nearly as far as sex-- just anything that would/could land you in hot water if your partner found out about it.
