SH, I have had this debate many times. I can "crumble" it myself if I wish. Just give me the pie or tart as it is.

I am looking out of the window as I type and my sweet and lovely neighbour, has a huge orchard and she has promised me all the apples that I want. I cannot wait - dough, sugar, apples, a little cinnamon and away we go! I am not a baker but my grandmother taught me to make perfect apple pies. It is a delicate combination of not making the dough too thick, getting the temperature of the oven just right and not over baking it!

And of course one must not forget the ice cream. One simply cannot beat heated apple tart with ice cream.
