Not having much luck today

The lady I usually see (and adore) is away with no word on when she will return. So rather than sit around moping, earlier this week I decided to take the opportunity to see some of the other E-I superstars.

Superstar 1: we had a great chat by phone earlier in the week and were planning to meet yesterday. She suspended her profile suddenly a few days ago. I hope she's ok and I look forward to her return.

Superstar 2: is booked out for tomorrow which is the only day I have free.

Family member let me down with something so my window of opportunity reduced to two hours tomorrow.

Superstar 3: wanted a reference as she is absolutely entitled to ask for. I explained that my usual lady is away and can't vouch for me. I'm a bit reluctant to go down that road anyway. I guess I'm old fashioned that way. We chatted for a bit and Superstar3 offered me an appointment... outside of the window She also said to phone tomorrow afternoon in case someone cancelled. I was impressed with her very professional phone manner but she has such a good reputation that I really don't want to see her on standby. That's a reflection on me by the way, not her.

Called number 4, line was so bad I had to hang up.

So I suppose I have to keep working down the list until I get lucky. I wish I hadn't got such a narrow range of "types". Things would be much easier.
