the mind is programmed by visual, by language and by chemicals. So if those three things are imbalanced you may suffer depression. So you may hear something through language that causes you depression, but upon hearing something else you may get better. You may see something that depresses you, but upon seeing something else you may get better. But how do you correct a chemical imbalance(if the visual and language side dont work), bar taking medication. very often CBT goes hand in hand with the language and visual side of things. Some times it works on its own, some times it may not. Very often anxiety occurs in depression and anxiety is extremely hard to tackle in some people

Everyone has their down periods, but I'm incredibly thankful I've never had full blown depression. Knowing a few people with it, I've seen how it can wreck lives.

    I wrote in another thread:

I'm in my late 20's and have never had a girlfriend. I've love shyness (for those who don't know http://www.love-shy.com/faq).

In the last while, it had started to eat away at me that I'm soon to be 30 and have never been with a woman. I felt an utter failure and led to depression. In light of the death of Robin Williams, something snapped inside me and made me realise life is too short and that I had to know what it was like.
Of course, there were other factors as well but I'm glad to report that, since visiting escorts, I haven't felt a failure at all. Much like finding out I was love shy, it seems to have empowered me and inspired me.

Naturally, everyone has their own experiences (and I certainly do not wish to denigrate them) but this is mine.

Some people believe in exercise and diet as a way to relive anxiety and a no alcohol as its a depressant not the night you are drinking it put the next day. I guess you have to find what works for you every one is different

Things like that used to depress me when I was younger. I always believed there was something wrong with me because I simply clammed up when that sort of stuff was going on around me, and people used to think I was gay because of it which led to further depression.

What I, eventually, learnt was that people like the ones you described have no character, no insights into life or even ambition. They're simply sheep who'll shag anything to pass the time. Once I realised that, I felt much better.
