My advise would be to a number of ladies would be to write to him with the questioning of the statistics, the danger of the swedish model for workers and the blinkered view he has. I'm sure he would be able to review his approach.

When he states that if a few prominent citizens or police officers were prosecuted under such a law, it would provide a huge deterent to the ordinary punter, he is showing that he hasn't got a clue about how Irish society works! Even if a law was enacted here to fully equate a punter with a child molester (and in part the insane recommendations do this and placing a punter in such a situation would be the wet dream of Denise Charlton and Ruhama along with destroying sex workers' lives which is their obvious priority!), no one from the great and good in Irish society and no pig would be prosecuted under it, even if they were effectively raping every trafficked woman to be found in the country! Ordinary men will be prosecuted under it!

In fairness to her like most sociologists who've stuck their head above the parapet the need to deal with poverty and to increase available options to women is key to alleviating selling sex for survival .
