The punt was pretty much tied to sterling right up to the introduction of the Euro.

I say to the Scots, grow a set of balls and make your own mistakes. Stop relying on the English to make the for you.

Brilliant! The pithiest summary of Irish 20th Century history I have ever heard

May we inquire as to why you are voting no?

Forget all the stuff about oil and the economics. This sums up nicely why the English want a yes vote.

"Imagine, both Danny Alexander and Gordon Brown banished from Westminster forever. No more Scottish MPs. The near impossibility of a majority Labour government ever again in Jerusalem’s green and pleasant land."

Occchhh aaaiiii Lllaaddiiee a great speill by "Willam Wallace" ..... tell ya the truth (My opinion) Scotland like Wales & N.Ireland have been told when to s..t by Britian, & as a result of this Centuaries been ruled I dont think on voting day we will see an Independant Scotland, however IF it does happen it will most likely be a "6 of this & half a dozen of the other" deal where Scotland will opt for a "Crown Dependancy" like Jersey,Gurnsey, Giberaltar & etcs where they self rule but remain under the Military protection of Britian I would imagine ? but I am sure in this situation of "Crown Dependancy" taxes/tributes are paid to this been so tell me what is the basic difference between "Crown Dependancy" & a Mafia style "Protection Racket" where "Tributes/Taxes" are paid ???? anyway best of luck to them either way but I think a seporation will possibly be the "Thin End of the Wedge" & lead to instability .. ??????

That line is reason enough to vote no. Terrible movie. Full of gross historical inaccuracies

Oil revenues. It seems to me that it was the UK government that has understated the oil extracted and the reserves remaining over the past few years. But oil, its presence, absence etc. is no reason to vote no or yes! This is a long term decision.

NHS: It is the UK government that is destroying the NHS. The Independent Scottish parliament is doing rather better!!!

Currency also seems to be a no brainer. Scotland and the rest of the UK will have to share the pound. If England refuses, they will have to accept all of the UK national debt!!!! That is a no brainer!!!

Jobs. Some jobs will move and others will develop. If Scotland do what we did in the IFSC, create the right tax and regulatory regime, jobs and revenues could flow into the country!!!!

Scotland will always be part of the EU if it wants it. The EU and its constituent members will be happy to accept it (although Spain and Belgium will have concerned for the implications for their own countries!)

As for NATO, NATO will most certainly want Scotland die to its strategic position. The real question to be asked is whether Scotland wants NATO!

Really, do you not feel the desire to manage matters for yourselves in your own way? Yes you make mistakes. We made mistakes here over the years but we have done so much more right. Ireland would never be where or as good as it is at present if we were part of the UK!

Go on, take a chance! Selfishly I must say that I very firmly believe that Ireland will be better off if Scotland votes no.

But if I was Scottish, I would vote yes!

P.s. Have you seen the Lady Alba "Bad Romance" pisstake? If not, google it!
