Default Booking flights NOT pls help

    Hello

Should be so easy to book a flight from london gatwick/heathrow to Belfast city but I am having problems.
Either no one flys there or they want nearly 200 and my eyes are crossing trying to do this.
Please someone suggest an airline that has reasonable prices or do I give up and go to the International airport - really need to use city if anyone can help.

Pay the €200, Ireland -uk flights, you get screwed on short notice bookings ( less than 10 days or so). That's the price we pay far living on an island! Aerlingus, Ryanair, they all do it.

    are there cheaper flights too?
I told someone flying was about 30-40 each way - but that was after he booked hotel, now i find flights are around 150 200
I suppose its only 70 difference but sounds a lot, I will put it nicely.
will wait and see if there are any less expensive options, awful expensive bit of water to the mainland

Sad to say Josephine but the cheap flight era is over . The airlines have introduced millions of passengers to international travel at low cost and they now have a captive market . Cheap flights were never going to be sustainable anyway . Best to book a month in advance for best value , any earlier will be more expensive as the try recover the fixed costs of that flight is it's below optimum capacity. But these higher prices reflect the the true cost to the airline. The last 10 to 20 seats will always be more expensive as they will go to passengers who need the seat and also your aircraft will be getting close to its max capacity and this incurs higher costs in terms of fuel uplift and burn to the airline.

EIFII would probably give a more professional explanation . But that's my simple mans understanding .

So just pay the cash and move on
