to every action there is a reaction. I look at these wars and think they solve nothing. The more you beat your enemy the more he will fight back. Then you kill families and the relatives seek revenge. It will go on and on. The only way forward is either complete annihilation of one faction or like we did with the UK, wherein you forgive.

Funny thing. For years we have had tv programmes and movies made along with docs about the biggest cunt in history, Adolf Hitler. Will someone answer me this because I could be wrong but I cant remember ever reading or hearing about Hitler or Nazis shooting down a commercial airplane. From what I know they just shot down fighters? Ok so people might say the Lusitania was sunk but by who? Not Hitler? My point is these bastards today are far far worse than Hitler. Hitler just invaded places to take over the world which is understandable but today we have places being bombed and ruined for f'all reason only to slap someones ego on the hand.

Not to mention tha fact that in 2001 the Ukranians shot down an Aeroflot commercial flight, killing dozens of people. But, hey, that was ok because the President of Ukraine was an ally of Washington at that time, so no fuss at all was made about it - the Russians were just told to go and stuff themselves.

What's really mad is how complacent the media have become. They just print any old garbage that they are given by Washington.

You're right the UN in it's current form will never work. The economic interests of its members outweigh any social concerns. The permanent Security Council members do need their veto, however. When you think of the big five members - the US, UK, China, Russia, and France - these are the nations most likely to become involved in a big war given their military and economic capabilities as well as their influence and global presence. They need to be in discussion, avoiding mass conflict, and the veto contributes to a stalemate between these states.

There will never be a peaceful solution to the Israel/Palestine problem with Hamas in power. Hamas do not want peace with Israel, will never want peace with Israel, and until they are ousted there won't be peace between the two peoples. One can argue that the Israeli govt are not concerned about the plight of the Palestinian people. Neither are Hamas. It suits their agenda to have Palestinians killed under IDF bombardment and the bodies dragged out for the world to see. Sami Abu Zuhri has encouraged people to remain indoors and ignore the IDF's requests to evacuate homes. They claim people are doing this voluntarily but knowing Hamas I doubt the majority of people are volunteering their lives.

I don't condone Israel's actions and their disproportionate response but this conflict involves more than just 'badguy' Israel. Neither Hamas nor this Israeli govt are capable of bringing peace to the region. In fact discussions between Hamas and any Israeli govt are likely to break down. Could there be progress is each sides backers were to restrict funding? Possibly for a time. It's funny how a lot of people point accusatory fingers at the US for giving money to the Israelis when they also fund the Palestinian Authority. The EU, UN, and US have given them billions in funding. All that money given to the Palestinian Authority and the Israelis and not one glimpse of progress.
