Compare this read to the one about sex parties. Hypocrisy, much?

It's weird that the frat boy image of American drinking has stuck. Years ago I was in Cali visiting family and went drinking with my cousin and her friends - I think I was about 1.5 to 2 pints to every pint they drank; half of them were sick and cried off.

The UK and Ireland have a drinking culture different to the continent and a good few other places it's true - but unfortunately the media also jump all over drink related stories; often as Lucy said involving the "chattering or lower" classes.

:rolleyes : at 'working class' distinction . 'Slutty behaviour' is just that : slutty behaviour , regardless if done in a

spit on the floor bar or at a high end hotel. But it seems to me that 'common behaviour' seems more common

    amongst 'common people'. Whatever nationality.

It is sad though that the 'boys will be boys' is still alive and well all across , all through all nationalities and their

    media.

Exception to the 'boys will be boys' , perhaps , is Sweden , where they want to 'outlaw' boys peeing standing.

Now that's just as mad / bad imo .

Maybe Spring break celebration in your youth was different.

I thought Spring break is about people to have fun, doesn't matter if they are from working class homes or not....

Labeling them, just like you did, it's just bad x

I'm off to grab a bite with one of my boyfriends

This is an excellent article which says more than I ever could

"Of course, the men featured in the footage will never be named, will never be made to feel bad about "performing sex acts" on camera. Why should they? Men's sexual behaviour is not policed in the same way: if a man and a woman have sex in public, he is a stud and she is a disgusting slut who deserves to die. It is unknown whether the drunken sex games of British tourists abroad have ever included young men going down on up to 30 women at once, but one suspects that if they have, the images would not be considered newsworthy, although they might merit some sort of award for lingual stamina.

The role of class hatred in this narrative deserves attention. The British press loves to hate women, but it particularly loves to hate specific, usually working-class, women who are singled out as symbols of moral degradation, offered money if they cooperate with the public humiliation which will happen with or without their consent. Journalists are currently descending on Magaluf, and we can anticipate a month or two of horror stories about a kingdom of sun and sin where the dignity of working-class women goes to die. Nobody is covering what goes on behind the scenes in Mustique or Monaco
    "
Can I say I agree with your sentiments re women vs men and the class label.

However that does not mean that the behavior of the young lady in question was either acceptable or wise. If she wants to blow 24 men in private that is up to her. To do it in public for a bottle of beer is stupid and shows she was either drunk, stupid or both. To me it is not a very bright thing to do. Also whether a lot of women agree or not it attracts unwanted attention from unscrupulous men who will take advantage knowing they can walk away. This may not be the world which most of us would like to have but sadly it is a reality. I don't think we will ever get to a point where a woman sucking 24 cocks in public is acceptable.

We may get to a point where the media being allowed to publish blow by blow videos to accurately express their outrage is not acceptable, which alone will be fine.

I pass no comment on the young lady (18) year olds behaviour, that's not mine to judge, I have a serious problem with the medias' handling of it and the part played by the promoter of that event though
