    Seven classic Mercs, a Citroen Mehari and a totally reliable VW 2.0 diesel ......

    @ Petros ..... had VW for 40 years, done over 2,000,000 miles and never once popped a con rod or anything else for that matter! I use the VW to commute between London, Glasgow, Dublin and home in Nimes because they are so reliable .....

    The older ones were great cars! It's the newer ones that give all the problems. 2,000,000 is impressive out of any car but I seriously doubt you would get anything like that out of a current model VW.

    Emm .... that was done in 14 cars! The current one has 250,000 kms and its two years old.

    Yeah that is roughly the milage I do in two years so i expect it is fairly normal.
