Near Cork you have lots of lovely places, some are well known like Kinsale, but around Kinsale there are lots of "hidden" spots.
Old head, Sandycove, Summercove and more, you need just to drive trying always to get to the coast and you will find amazing spots.

Crosshaven, which the Camden Fort Meagher is up to re-open on 31st May. http://www.rescuecamden.ie/
As well you must try to drive always Seaside to find "hidden" places.

Ballycotton, nice Light House, and the cliffs walk. Beautiful.

Whitegate, nice Rostellan lake and forest walk.

And of course Cork West Cork, many many amazing sites.

Unfortunately I cant find better pics of the spots on google.

I just found this website which is new for me too.

What you failed to mention is that this waterfall is at its' most amazing when it freezes over in Winter !!! The water can freeze as it flows down ( many 'locals' don't even know this !) ...and it looks like stalactites ( ice fingers ) flowing down !

Another place, as I told Melek one day ( as she is often in Cork !)' God help her !! .... is Garnish Island, off Glengarriff off the coast of Cork ! The Gulf Stream flows nearby and there is some amazing tropical flowers there, as a result !

So I'll kick off with one of my favourite places to go for a romantic stroll.

    Mount Usher Gardens.

Located in Ashford,Co.Wicklow.Less than an hour drive from Dublin city center.

And the food in the Avoca cafe is really good.

Is the cliff walk fairly level ,or is there a lot of climbing? Also I presume that there is no shelter ?

It's a great walk, flat but one or two sections where repairs have been made there's a couple of steps, I've cycled it on many occasions.
However, a word of warning - ladies make sure to flat shoes / trainers / hiking boots as the ground has been chopped up a bit over the winter.
Its about a 6km easy walk and best of all you can get some lovely food in Greystones and then get the train back to the start in Bray .
