Default 11% of women think "no kissing" means "no STI"

You see survey results everywhere, and all of them seem designed to shock... but one by UKmedix.com has really shocked everyone here at the E-S offices! It transpired that a total of 11% of women surveyed seemed to believe that not kissing during sex would prevent the spread of STIs. Erm...

Worryingly, it gets worse, and you can see just how much worse over on the Escort-Scotland blog.

Which of those results is the worst for you?

Hmmm. Wonder how many think you can't get pregnant then.

I think my favourite is "14% of women thought that if you were in a relationship you couldn’t catch an STI". So, if your relationship status on Facebook is "in a relationship" you're fine, but if it is "single" you're in trouble? What about those who say "it's complicated"? What would their chances be?

But the survey does not really mean that. I bet it was in the form of a multiple choice with a question like "which of the following will help to prevent you from getting an infection during sex?"

In a survey with a dozen or more questions, any answer will get some selections from folks who just tick boxes at random or who intentionally give wrong answers. Then the pillocks behind the test have some silly answers to grab headlines.
