Personally i think moderators should have no input on a forum other than moderate, when a moderator posts ultimately it will
become apparent what their views and opinions on certain matters are, when this becomes the case it will always appear that they are coming down on the side of their own views. In most cases this will probably be not the case but its all about perception
eg; not only does the decision have to be correct but it must seem to be correct. In the same way when a jury is being picked
people will not be considered because of certain views or beliefs the may hold even though they may try their hardest to be totally impartial and would maybe succed.
To sum up having a moderator posting is a bit like letting the referee of a football match have a kick of the ball now and again
Blatant promotion should be outlawed
