If you think thats bad, watch the digital display as your luggage goes through. Every electrical and battery powered item is listed by make and model. If the system doesnt recognise an item, your bag is opened for inspection. Happened me when I bought a new camera, latest model. Guy had an interest in photography and took a good look. I asked him what if it had been a personal item he found, his answer was that you shouldn't bring such items through customs if you're easily embarassed, and gave me a tour of the scanner.

I went through the scanner recently in Dublin Airport but forgot to take off my watch . Not a peep from the scanner . Other times its been set off by the hinges in my glasses .
Another time I boarded a flight in Manchester with a bottle of water in my hand luggage !

I have to laugh at those scanners — I had been going through airport scanners for ages before I realised I have a multi tool in my camera bag that I was carrying on board! This was a serious tool with knives, screwdrivers, files etc. Basically every banned tool on the list LOL I can't say for sure but I guess it went through at least 20 scanners in Ireland, UK, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and France before I remembered it was there LOL
