I'd love to have a German Shepherd. They are just such fantastic dogs - so loving and look at how fluffy they are!

However, I did spot a lady last week walking what I can only describe as a bear. I asked her what breed and she said Leonberger. The picture below should give you an idea of the size of animal I was talking about:

I don't mind small dogs, but I think I'd prefer to have a big dog.

I am with Lara on it, love to have German Shepherd and will have one in future, just need a bigger place ! Love dogs

I can imagine the situation going 'dot for dot' just like that.

I grew up with dogs everywhere, but the all time favourite is lurchers, but not exactly a breed more a collection of cross breeds. Brilliant temperaments and really loyal, the only dogs I have ever known that can manage a sulk; we even had one that would turn around in his bed to face away from us when he sulked! But give them something to chase or play and they are some of the fastest sprinters out there.

The best of the lot are Saluki crosses, but they do draw some strange looks courtesy of the ears and tail not quite matching the rest of the dog!
