Default What's your favourite breed of dog?

I do love dogs; no, not to the extent of having sex with them (contrary to popular belief!) but at the moment, my place is too small to have one

A question to fellow dog lovers: what breed of dog is your favourite?

In my family, we have always had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier:

Sadly these beautiful dogs have a bad reputation for mauling people and being fighting dogs, and these days a lot of chavs seem to have them too. Every Staffie we have ever had has been such a playful, friendly, loving beast, and the behaviour of the dog usually reflects that of the people that look after them.

When I am able to have a dog, I think I shall adopt an Alaskan Malamute:

    Such a beautiful animal

Despite my bad experience with dogs, I actually love them. I've grown up with them in the family (Collies and German Shepherds mostly).

I'd love to have a German Shepherd. They are just such fantastic dogs - so loving and look at how fluffy they are!

However, I did spot a lady last week walking what I can only describe as a bear. I asked her what breed and she said Leonberger. The picture below should give you an idea of the size of animal I was talking about:

I don't mind small dogs, but I think I'd prefer to have a big dog.

    Border Collie.

Loyal and intelligent. Not too big, not too small.
