K, so it appears that the geek zone has gone so I'm posting in general chat

Well, I'm home alone and a mate of mine has given me The Wire box set.
I've had it for circa a month but only playing press now.
He's told me that the first series is slow moving but to be patient with it.
I remember the Sunday Times a few years back voting this as the best TV series ever, the Soprano's only coming it at #2 which I loved.

So anyone watched the series & is it really that good???

PS Has anyone ever been in Baltimore???

Yeah I thought it was very good, think with a lot of things its a bit over hyped though, first season I thought was very good ....think 2nd season is the weakest.

The wire is in a completely different league from everything else. Stands up really well to rewatching too as there's a lot you could possibly miss the first time through.
