    tests to be done

first unplug your router for 2 mins then plug back in and wait 5 mins

than once your back go to start then run or search bar then type in cmd and click enter

dos screen pops up do comand above and get 2nd box up

type the following then press enter

    ipconfig

then you wil get a list one will be your default gateway something like 192.168.1.1.

    run the following

    ping 192.168.1.1 -t

this depends on the default gateway if its different use that number remember spaces and dots in the command matter , you should start getting replys

    in other box type

    ping www.google.com -t

now watch these two if 192.168.1.1 is ok but google is not replying its isp

if both go then it could be router and will need replaced but in most cases isp take care of routers too

    hope this helps

oh and after reboot of router everything is grand dont worry somethimes routers just need a reboot every now and then

Fair play Yamsers... on the ball... and Im in the biz....

Found the highlighted above a bit confusing. The RUN command is gone from newer Operating systems so try pressing the "Windows" key + R on your keyboard instead and type in CMD and press enter. The Windows key is the key situated bottom left between Ctrl and Alt.... This works on all windows operating systems.
