When I first tried it a few years back I was a little alarmed that a Gorilla could waltz into and out of my line of vision undetected, to be honest I felt a little stupid. New research shows that I may be on the better side of the results ...

They've made the Stanford Prison Experiment into a few different movies actually, one of them starring Adrien Brody.

The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own.
No apologies or excuses.
No one to lean on, rely on, or blame.
The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it.

When I studied psychology, there was one experiment that I could really remember. It was a look at the Bystander effect, which is where the more people there are around, the less likely someone is to help another (me doing a very basic summary there).
The test they did involved someone taking a test in a room. They are told they must complete the test before they can leave. Each time the room would start to fill with smoke, and they timed to see how long it would take for the person to leave. The only variable was whether the person was alone in the room or had others with them (actors, told not to look at the smoke and to continue the test). Here's the video of the experiment that I found:
I find it fascinating that this happens. Is the woman really sitting there and thinking "I won't be the first to stand"? or is that all in her unconscious, as she has to complete the test?

I'm a socio-path/psychopath then, as the very first time I did this I thought red spanner It's just that the colour 'red' and the tool 'hammer' are the first that pop into your head. It's like the "gay" test that goes like this:
Take your first answer and go through the test as quickly as you can to determine if you are gay:
1) Think of a country beginning with the letter 'D'
2) Take the second letter of that country and think of an animal beginning with it
3) Think of a colour of that animal
As long as you weren't thinking of a grey elephant from Denmark, you're not gay!
It's based on our first initial responses
Also, I remember posting the gorilla video somewhere on the forums way way back because I'd been shocked that I hadn't spotted it. I went back and watched it again to make sure it had been there and was stunned... how can I miss someone in a gorilla suit beating their chest, but spot a spider from across the room?
