    Default Northern Ireland Assembly

Today at around 2 o'clock, there will be another hearing about the criminalisation of paying for sex in the Northern Ireland Assembly:

    http://aims.niassembly.gov.uk/commit...nessdiary.aspx

This will probably be viewable in the live coverage video which can be found in the link below:

Thats where you will hear the hypocrites from all parties

Make judgements as to how others behave. Very important for some.......Less important and often justified are all those who were murdered...beaten up,,,,had to leave for their own safety, and those who were terrorised.

Will be most interested to hear what the 'righteous' have to say.

Would Jesus criminalise prostitutes? or criticise them

Sad thing is this is a non issue for the large majority of the population who, while they may not like it, realise that no law will change a behaviour that is around since time began. And in that apathy lies the danger that 'fundamentalist' will get their way because there is no vote in for politicans who might tell them to get real.

The way that Laura Lee was treated a few days ago by these people was utterly disgusting. I certainly wouldn't buy a used car from any of them.

Slightly of topic, but relevant I think. DUP not well thought of in Academia and I think they will have more trouble than they think with their bill.

Quote, "Why have you hooked yourself up to that lot in the DUP? Have you any idea what they stand for in terms of social issues around women's rights; women's reproductive rights issues and so forth?

"In terms of gay and lesbian politics that I have an interest in, they are one of the most repressive and socially backward parties you could imagine."

Found the video of Laura Lee's evidence (with more than a little difficulty). It's almost 45 minutes:

Missed these first time round, thanks for all the links.
I was disgusted but not surprised by the attitude of the committee north of the border. A mirror image of what happened down here except ours was more subtle but the bias was just the same. Minds already made up, no impartiality of the chairman, any non-anti either treated as a hostile witness or just ignored. In other words just a rubber stamp for the TORL campaign of misinformation.
I'd also like to say a big well done to Laura for being brave enough to speak before all these bigots who to my mind are a christian version off the Taliban. I just hope that someone somewhere will see through Ruhama and the I.C.I.and realise that they are inflating a problem to justify and prolong the huge salaries, reported to be over 100K, of the CEO's
Seems like there is no justice in a justice committee both sides of the border.
