Joanna Kiernan writes a balanced view from the point of view of escorts, as she spoke with 'Clara', who is from New Zealand originally and works in Ireland and UK and other countries. Very good article outlining the dangers of Swedish law to escort workers.

To give balance she gives the last 2 paragraphs to Sarah Benson of Ruhama who makes some real points but gets the 'minority' aspect wrong and maximises the risks'. In reality its a majority from advertisers experience that are consensual and truly independent and the minority are the ones she speaks of. The only thing I can say negative other than the risks is for clients grand as a treat or temporary thing transition, in moderation but if not in moderation is bad for the financial health of the client. For the escort, its okay as a temporary or part time job with a non jealous non possessive partner but long term is a time intensive and emotionally draining. So I think moderation is key. The answer is not to criminalise or deny for that reason, but to regulate from Ireland.
