Another interesting article in todays Observer, starting out with a piece on the death of a Romanian sex worker, Mariana Popa, in England, as a consequence of police in her particular area forcing women to work alone almost as much as her psychotic attacker!
Senior officers who work in the direct sex work area, Chris Armitt and Martin Hewitt have called for sanity to replace insane outdated laws!

Just look at the J.O.(C)ke hearings. Every independent researcher told them the Swedish model was not the way to go. What did they do? Recommend the Swedish model!

Yes indeed it's blatantly obvious that the Swedish Model will have the adverse effect of what they pretend it will! Indeed the one that was recommended (and was decided before any hearings) is The Swedish Model with knobs on e.g taking phone numbers from escorts (a massive safety issue), placing criminal sanctions on those who dare look at sites such as Escort Ireland, at the level of those for Paedos downloading child porn (again a massive security issue for a sex worker) and having strict liability on any hotel or landlord renting a room to a sex worker, classifying them as gaining from immoral earnings, does this imply that renting a room to a sex worker to actually live in will be treated the same! Of course sex workers should be decriminalised fully and with full decriminalisation, those recommendations are even more insane!
