Its very easy to tell the difference between a independent using a receptionist and a agency trying to come across as independent. Firstly, the client will know when he visits the escort if she's working alone or not. A agency also usually has a few numbers on the go.

I am 100% independent and I have a receptionist. I take my own calls when I am not working or when I am only working for two or three hours. If I am touring or work a full day it is essential that I have my phone diverted to my receptionist then as I can not work and take calls at the same time while seeing clients all day usually with only a short period of time between each one to wash etc. I myself call the client closer to the time to give directions etc.
My receptionist is polite on the phone and handles all of my appointments well. If the client would like to talk to me personally they usually text me and I call them when I can.
In my opinion it is essential for a busy escort to have a receptionist.
