Since the news broke yesterday about the accident I've been gutted I'm a huge fan of Schumacher I watched all his races ever since he joined Jordan. It's true he was flawed but so were most of the greats like Senna, Lauda, Prost and even Vittel it's the winning blood. You could see it when he won a rase the leap on the podium he would work through the night with his team to find that extra tenth of a second, he always made sure he celebrated with his crew afterwards and paid for everything but he was a bit of a bore and always left early to be sure he could train properly in the morning. I truly hope one of my all time heroes pulls through.
    Who loves ya baby......!!

I remember a storey about a famous runner who at the height of his fame visited a junior athletics meeting. He was there as a celebrity not to compete because he was well out of their league.
Just for fun he took part in a demonstration race. At the start of the race he hit one of the competitors a severe blow in the ribs with his elbow. Competitive instinct, for the guy was known to be a gentleman.

Also, Rocky Marciano was known as a complete gentleman, yet in the ring he changed completely, and could be a very ‘dirty’ fighter.

The way a competitive sportsman thinks..

    List could go on…
