Christmas as we know is a day for our lord () I know right lol !

How many of you actually see it as a religious day or dedicate it to jesus? And how many just see It as what It is, a materialistic day spent with friends and family?

Personally as a proud Atheist and dedicated hater of all things catholic, christain and whatever the fuck else you want to call it I see It as a day to get bladdered in order to forget its christmas, I just dont like the day or the holiday. People wll call me pessimistic but really I couldnt give a toss.

its fairly pointless if you dont have kids in your life and are not meeting people that you rarely see and christmas becomes one of the only times in the year that you get to see them, then again its about great memories too and its good to relive and share them and reminess about your past Christmases as a child especially. love the look of the xmas tree, but folks too old to put the full sized one up and decorate it like they use to when we were kids. it literally looked magical back then

I dont have kids but its meeting people that I rarely see is the prob. why xmas? People who I know well generally see me all year round even when I am busy. I dont wait for some traditional excuse to see them.

That is you as an individual who is doing that good deed, not the church. Every monday there is a 3 woman who make soup for the homeless in Limerick and stand there with a table and stuff set up for them in the city centre, and I know for a fact there not working for a church, they are social workers. Anyone can do that, the church has fucked countless people up, giving food to the homeless isnt going to change anything. But respect where respect is due, giving up your christmas to help the poor and homeless is a very nice gesture so well done
