Religious people are very good at pushing their views onto you, especially at xmas hence why my thread might come across as disrespectful perhaps. Spending time with friends etc Is always nice and christmas is the ideal time for that with the time off work/college and whatever people might do during the year.

As you said It is just my opinion and this is not a disguised thread to start a religious debate lol

You either love or hate Christmas. If there is sadness in your life, very often you don't want to know about Xmas as you are supposed to be happy and you are not and that must be hard. Many people just get out of the country.

I have always loved Xmas as I associate love, friendship, good times and kindness with it. I love the traditions that go with it too ! I think I'll bring a bottle of Champers on my next booking, say Christmas Eve-- now that would be bold !

[QUOTE=Jaygoodtimes;1256776]Christmas as we know is a day for our lord () I know right lol !

How many of you actually see it as a religious day or dedicate it to jesus? And how many just see It as what It is, a materialistic day spent with friends and family?

Personally as a proud Atheist and dedicated hater of all things catholic, christain and whatever the fuck else you want to call it I see It as a day to get bladdered in order to forget its christmas, I just dont like the day or the holiday. People wll call me pessimistic but really I couldnt give a toss.

Happy Holidays folks[/QUOTE for me xmas is a load of crap and money wasting. don't get me wrong as i love to see people happy. presents going back and forth and they might not even talk for the rest of the year. people get too sentimental and loose the run of themselves.

Yay for the Atheists! (I’m an atheist too. I’m not being facetious.)

To the girls - LET ME TELL YOU THAT XMAS DAY IS THE MOST PROFITABLE DAY TO WORK IN DUBLIN X

There are a lot of foreigners stuck in dubs, that do not believe in Christ – totally diff culture, and are ready and willing. The most boring day of the year for them - every feckin shop is closed.

Unfortunately, I have prior engagements. Good luck and have a very merry Xmas to all x

I am very proud to be a practising catholic I have never ever, threw my views onto people, I have pointe dout the good the church has done and IS doing, you know when you're at home sitting with your family eating good food, heating and a roof over your head? I will be out working with my local church working in the kitchen and going to homes delivering food packages, I never disrespect aethists views but please don't start throwing your aethiast agenda around. Have some respect please.

You should be proud of yourself for doing that, honestly a small gesture like that inspires others and that small gesture carries on and on in people.

I was specifically talking about christmas as this is a christmas thread and christmas is a religious holiday and it ties in with my original post as it's about what the church does (not just at christmas)
