I speak from experience having spent 22 years there.
physically it takes about 3 months to get up to speed,
the hardest part is the psychological stuff.
It takes a lot of doing to make people from so many different cultures and languages to think and act as one,plus there is learning the linguo which can be tricky.

After that , plain sailing !

just curious what are the physical tests you need to pass like running a mile in under such a time and so on and how many people would drop out in the first few weeks ?, there is actually an ex ffl guy who is doing bootcamps near us

I'm interested in getting a job in IT but it is so broad from web design to software programming what is the best area to get into? ive looked into mainframe cobol course and A+ N+ oracle and things like that but nothings coming up in my area

Best to narrow things down to what hou can do and what you like to do . For me i like to be mobile ie go around office or even drive around town or country to fix a computer. I looked into programming and whats involved i could never do it too much code and one typo can fuck up pages and pages of text .maybe web design is good but theres alot of programs that can build you a basic website . I got into IT bevause from a young age i liked fixing computers and useing them so i opted for doing a course . You might be best looking at what the job intails and see if you could stick doing it for years .

I was wondering if anybody did a hdip in applied computing technology or heard anything about it I am thinking of doing if it comes up close to home its 3500 grand but I have more enough savings for it ,theres another one in science and data analysis but you need a high level of maths for it

I was let go 3 weeks ago decrease in demand or something been working in a factory for 2 years and I have no idea what to do next ,another factory job? which i did an interview for but i have heard nothing since thats 2 weeks now, take a stab at a completely different job?,do a work placement (work for nothing), get a job with my business degree which i never used its 4 going on 5 years now cant remember a thing, a course I looked on springboard but you need to wait and do interviews ,was looking at a IT course but there expensive or go out foreign but id shit meself at even moving to dublin haha,or a fas course haha, jus really afraid il bollock around im 28 near 30 now been afraid to do anything and end up on the dole or a shite job again and end up goin nowhere ,i just wanted to vent and talk to the the wise gurus here honestly the guys here have helped alot

my advice,would be do some temping and while you are at it.try and do a part time course where they will assist you with placement upon completion.it's not meant to be easy.but it certainly will be worth it.good luck hun.
