    The first time I was deployed in the early 80's was in lebanon, after that many places in africa, tahiti, guyana, yugoslavia, persian gulf for the most part. there are others, but it is a subject of discussion for another time perhaps...

    I'm interested in getting a job in IT but it is so broad from web design to software programming what is the best area to get into? ive looked into mainframe cobol course and A+ N+ oracle and things like that but nothings coming up in my area

    Best to narrow things down to what hou can do and what you like to do . For me i like to be mobile ie go around office or even drive around town or country to fix a computer. I looked into programming and whats involved i could never do it too much code and one typo can fuck up pages and pages of text .maybe web design is good but theres alot of programs that can build you a basic website . I got into IT bevause from a young age i liked fixing computers and useing them so i opted for doing a course . You might be best looking at what the job intails and see if you could stick doing it for years .

    I was wondering if anybody did a hdip in applied computing technology or heard anything about it I am thinking of doing if it comes up close to home its 3500 grand but I have more enough savings for it ,theres another one in science and data analysis but you need a high level of maths for it
