No x it's the laptop that is actually not making a sound . There are no additional speakers .

Right click speakers down bottom right corner of screen and click on volume controll options or speaker controll options make sure boxs are ticked for correct hardware ie all devices currently play sound etc . If that dont work let me know more trickier stuff to do then
First thing I did was check Speaker Setting in lower right . It's on Max . xx

It's prob gonna be something really simple .. x

Ok, I presume you've done the obvious like turning the sound up via the little speaker icon bottom right of your taskbar, I'm not sure but does your laptop have a dial on the side also for volume control some do, make sure it also is turned up, then go to the little speaker icon, right click your mouse over it, select playback devices and ensure speakers are selected and not HDMI output or any other devices that may be listed in there, check that speakers are set to default, you can also click speakers, then on configure, choose stereo of all the options and click test, if all above fails you could try uninstalling you sound card drivers and re-installing them but we'll get over that problem if all the other options don't work

I had something similar once when I left my laptop for a few weeks. It wouldn't play sound, even with headphones or speakers plugged in separate from the ones in the laptop. I got annoyed and shut up down. Tried it again an hour later and it suddenly worked. Don't know what did it, but it was fine again.

It works sometimes Worth a shot, anyway

That's exactly what I was going to suggest! Try doing a restart and see if that sorts it.

As anon said see video. Also switch in headphone jack can get stuck, try plugging in headphones at different speeds several times to see if it will release internal switch.

    Welcome back btw

Ah I saw the above and forgot you said laptop. Try your control panel and see what the settings are anyway.
