Thread: False Advertising x

    Question False Advertising x

    What constitutes false advertising ?

I'm not talking about bait-n-switch outfits, but about legit profiles.

She advertises blonde, but changed her color to brunette ?

    Says she's 5'7" tall , but in truth is barely 5'4" ?

Or the reverse : you expecting a tiny girl and instead a tall beauty opens the door ?

Has nice tanned pictures , but since has turned white ? Would you be disappointed ? Does it matter ?

What about listing voluptuous breast size , but has just a mouthful ?

What about if you like your women curvy but since she's lost weight ?

How bout the other way around ? Nice trim pictures, but then that's 'not exactly' what you find.

Whats your pet peeve ? What else ? In which case , at what point would you turn around and leave ?

    Or would you ?

In your mind , what is false advertising ? xx should I update my stats every time I lose / gain 5 lbs ?

How much is 'poetic license' , and at witch point does it become deceit ?

    Discuss xx
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

I would just about die ! I cannot imagine worse , than seeing disappointment on a Client's face when I open the door !

I am SO careful about my pictures ! Though I am no spring chicken , and some pics do need a bit of shopping,

I am so careful for it to be real !!

The pictures is exactly whom my clients will meet ! Size , shape , color , etc.

I can't imagine this girl will have much happiness with such pics on a dating site. What when face to face time comes ?

*I keep clicking on that picture. Just incredulous !

You put up this post as I was writing mine on a similar subject. I'm not too bothered about little things like hair colour or height as long as they actually look like their pictures. I mean I've been to some that looked nothing like their profile pics, others who may have looked like that 20 years ago but are a lot older than the pics suggest and stated as age in the profile and others who are a lot heavier in person.
I feel bad when I walk out as its probably not the nicest thing to do on someone and probably a bit insulting but if the pictures didn't give off a realistic expectation that is their fault.

I find there is always a difference in how a lady looks, even when you've seen many photographs, and even when the photos are pretty accurate. There is a world of information that's impossible to see from a photograph - body language, how someone walks etc. - that cannot be or comprehended in a one-dimensional photo, no matter how accurate it might be. Even in relation to height - every single lady I've met has been either taller or smaller than I had imagined them to be, and that's not to say that they had lied about their height. Your mind creates an image based on a photo, but there's inevitably much more information - that can make you be more or less attracted to the lady than you thought - that can't be anticipated until the lady opens the door. I have to say I've never been physically disappointed - they've all been beautiful women, and I'm always grateful for the time I had with them.

And your post goes exactly to the heart of my question

What you describe is very reasonable , and fully understandable .

But when , at which point does it become false advertising ?

At which point would you feel that you've been mislead ?

I think it would take something major - like being much heavier than stated - and mean very much heavier, not just a few pounds. Hair colour wouldn't bother me, nor tanned or not. Age difference to what's stated in the ad wouldn't bother met too much either, within 10 years anyway. I guess the lady would have to be very substantially different to the way she advertised herself for me to feel mislead - but I might still like her anyway. For me the lady's attitude and vibe would be much more important to me feeling comfortable or not, rather than a narrow physical definition, and you can't find that out in an advertisement anyway.

Have to say i was never overally disappointed but when faces are blurred or covered up,on a few occasions the appearance was not what i had anticipated, but on more occasions i was very pleasantly surprised.

This is something that annoys me; normally, the favourites are the key thing I get confirmation on before making an appointment and re-confirm on arrival and therefore can normally manage any disappointments (which is why I have nearly all positive reviews). However, you never know what the specific attraction for the client is - some people's fetish is tall women and they would solely be looking for that and would be disappointed if a lady advertised as 5.11 and is only 5.4 (an extreme example).

Age is another one - some people want older ladies and some would be turned-off. Even nationalities can be a deciding factor for clients - some people love South American ladies, some Eastern European etc.

I'm not talking about small points, like a 30-year old listing herself as 29; or 5.7 listed as 5.8 - I think Stephanie's original post captures it well and it's not a question of changing a profile for a few pounds eitherway - so long as the lady is close to the pictures and description....

I suppose for me, it is sign of disrespect by the lady when she makes an egregious exaggeration, of which there are some fun examples here, as it implies she believes the clients won't know the difference or should just accept the exaggeration.
Though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; one equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
