It's just for discretion purposes so you can't be recognised from your photos. I even know of a girl who has fake tattoos put on her in her photos same as you might see some photos where a girl is using a wig just to help protect her identity x

Ive no problem with tattoos ,have a few myself , some ladies if they get professional photos done ( which cost lots ) may want to use the photos on other sites or for other reasons and if they dont show their faces on their profiles on EI or elsewhere then it could be a security reason as tattoos can identify a person

Tattoos do nothing for me - in fact, probably the opposite.

A few small discreet ones would not bother me - but, anything beyond that would be a turn off. Over the years, I have got caught out a few times - and felt that I had been fooled.

I take the point about some tattoos being identifying marks.

I have often thought that there should be a further category in the profiles relating to tattoos. For me, it would be as important a detail as the lady's height.
