Over the years i have seen many articles written about the escort business and sex workers.All have followed the same line, journalist makes appointment to meet escort,goes to apartment then makes excuse and leaves.

Yet they will write the same claptrap about coercion,exploitation and been controlled by criminal gangs.

In light of all the debate that is going on now about (The Swedish model of control) and the recent debate in DCU about legislation of prostitution, is it not time to ask, Do our legislators know anything about what they are talking and legislating for, ? ----------apart from what they read or heard from the extreme views or opinions on either side of the argument.

I would not expect any our TD's or Senators to admit that they have ever visited escorts, and if they never have, how would they know what the scene is,?

I don't expect Clergy men,Solicitors,Garda,Bankers,Civil servants or any member of the general public to admit either.

Yet we are bombarded with opinions about exploitation, spread of STI's and other biased opinion.
There is very little written about about one night drunken stands which may be contributing more to the spread of STI's

That there is exploitation i have no doubt and i would support all efforts by the authorities to stamp it out.

The limited resources of the state should focus on protecting any vulnerable individual and not to criminalise consenting adults

Because of such gender equality , men have to obey to women as they are doing the right moral thing.

All anti prostitution organizations rescue prostitutes and to them no woman will ever choose this line of work.

The men who are representing us on those committees or debates are are speaking from a position of ignorance and if they have ever visited an escort or escorts then they are being dishonest.To them it is easier to go with whatever is popular opinion at the time.
