Ya, have two GSDs, and a big mother fucker of a Rottweiler, even I think twice going into the garden at night, they are very protective of there garden, only me the wife and kids can go out there, if someone visits we have to put them in the dog run, if we leave them out the Rottweiler tries to ram the back door with his head with a view to ripping apart whoever is visiting, pitty any fool who tries to rob my home,

I have 2 cats. One I found as a kitten next to his dead mamma, who got hit by a car. He had a bad case of cat flu and both his eyes were badly infected. I didn't have the heart to put him down. I got one eye partially saved and the other had to be removed. But he is the sweetest most loving pet I ever had. The other one I found in a ditch - hit by a car and had to amputate his leg. I am a big softy in this regard.

If anyone is considering getting a pet, I would strongly advise to give some thought about going to the local animal shelter and adopting one.

As to pets being part of the family -- I refer to mine as my 'kids' .

My biggest one is a gorgeous 3 year old German Shepherd , the smallest is an 11 year old Min Pin girl.
