Lets look at some options:

2. There is probably a security camera working in the hotel so an escort, if after an event, may have recourse to it or the Gardai may have access to it.

4. There is normally a safe in the room or one available at reception so money can be placed where an attacker would not have access to it or be delayed in gaining access to it.
5 Most rooms have a peep hole so it would be possible to see if more than one person was waiting outside.

Now lets look at “Apartments”

1 There are much less people about and those who are in other apartments may be away at work when such attacks might happen.
2 There is probably a security camera working here also with the added benefit of having access to it from behind closed doors. You should be able to see a visitor before he enters the building. These video door bells cost less than €100 and are standard in many apartment blocks. The downside here is that these video are view only and rarely record unlike the hotel videos which record to a hard drive.
3. Two girls can work in adjoining or adjacent apartments thus adding to their protection and also reducing overheads such as living expenses.
4 There is no safe place to put money in an apartment because once an intruder has gained access you may be forced to hand over the money or risk further assault. Unlike a hotel room where you could claim that any money you had was locked away at reception.
5 Most apartments have a peep hole in their front door so it would be possible to see if more than one person was waiting outside.

There are other pros and cons with regard to using either hotel rooms or apartments but this is not what was asked.

In relation to all of the above it must be remembered by escorts and understood by punters that these girls are working outside the law, in a sometimes criminal environment, and are thus more vulnerable than other occupants of hotels and apartments to attacks from either clients or criminal/pimp gang members.

The question of the law in relation to hotels, the administering of that law, the personal choices of punters and the sad recent events of an attack are the subject of other threads and their inclusion here in no way adds to the value of this thread.

I know it's a tiny risk because I know the Garda general unofficial stance on two Independent Escorts sharing an apartment .................. and I know it's better for an escort to be arrested than to have her teeth kicked in ............
