Unfortunately we have no control how the media either view or report on the subject of escorts or their services.
Public opinion is often mirrored by what they read in papers.
Newspapers sell by using emotive language..........and the more sordid it appears the more newspapers get sold.
A headline "Girl shares body for college fees" is not quite as dramatic as "Girl sells body for college fees"
We as punters, while paying for sex with escorts, see things in a different light as we have come to know and respect these girls. We have a human face to put on the girls behind those headlines, we don't have misconceived ideas about the industry as we are part of it.....................quite an important part of it.
How do the media and general public perceive us?................the ordinary decent law abiding punters ?
We are seen as seedy, ugly, old, raincoat wearing, shifty, child molesting criminals......................
Are we ? Of course not.
Escorts provide a service, for which we are grateful, but they don't sell their bodies any more that a nightclub singers sell their body by singing their songs, a street sweeper, brick-layer or baby-sitter sells theirs by labouring at whatever their job is.
But the media will continue to refer to it as "selling their bodies"
Why?
Because they have no respect for the sex-workers. They don't see them as someone's daughter, sister, girlfriend, classmate, mother, wife or even as human.................no they are in the business of selling newspapers so they see them as material for print.
We see them differently...........................they are a reflection of ourselves.
