I remember when I broke my tib and fib when I was 17 being left in the corridor for some hours. I don't recall how long for exactly, but it was a fair while and that was quite a few years ago!

The only positive is that the longer they leave you in the corridor the more reassured you should feel that your condition is only minor and not fatal. It's when they take you in immediately you have to worry!

    Glad you are okay Richie.

I was in A&E last week with a relative. As with you he was on a trolley for hours but at least he was given intravenous drugs after a few hours , then he was moved to an extension ward of a&e and the doctor there appeared to have been on duty 48 hrs as he could not keep awake. He then seemed to be googling different meds to determine what the patient needed- really gave the imPression he didn't know what he was doing. My belief is that if you ate sick or unwell, a hospital is a the last place to go !!

My girlfriend works in A&E and the stories i could tell you would make your eyes water . Sorry to hear about your accident richieboy and the ensueing delay in obtaining your treatment . But you needed to be there , and from what i have heard , quite a large % of people who attend A&E do not and should be attending their GPs instead . And the amount of people , myself included , that have had to cancel our health insurance policies , now can only access the hospital services directly at the tax payers expense . Nice weather we are having , just think of all the people who will put off going to A&E till monday morning so they can enjoy it . Spare a thought for what my girlfriend will have to deal with on Monday , and every other hospital worker .
I have no signature at the moment

Any of the government departments are afraid to take them on, they talk about reform of the public service but it never happens.
Cuh is a much better hospital, I dont know why but the staff seem to be under less pressure than staff at WRH

That's why it's handy when you know someone in the hospital

I fractured my ankle playing basketball (don't ask how). Went to hospital, asked to see a relative who works there and I was sorted in an hour or so
