So Romeo and Juliet weren't real people? Malvolio didn't wear yellow stockings in Illyria? Puck didn't really cause mischief in the woods?

Any historical piece should remain true to the character. Otherwise you change history and savage someone's reputation

Ahhh, but Macbeth wasn't one of Shakey's historical pieces. It was a Tragedy So Shakey can do whatever he wants (plus, he's Shakespeare, so I think he gets some more credit for that)

Well use a made up name like King Jock McScot, instead of hammering a real king so he would get stroked off by James I...simples

Most of his "Historical" stuff was to suck up to the monarch of the time, look at his character assassination of Richard III.

Joss Whedon's version of Much Ado about Nothing is out soon, reviews look good - just to stray off topic hugely as I ain't touching the witches thing with a barge pole!!

Yes...Richard III got a hammering off the Tudor dynasty, most of it undeserved.

And I am with you, no way I am mentioning any names

Some people would claim it's cowardice, I call it pragmatism!

Was that the most Scottish name you could come up with?

Not naming names! Too much of a wimp (Though if it was mods and co, I reckon Martin, Bennin and Samlad would do well)
