references should be more used for girls as we don't have other way to say if we've liked the person or not and this is a good way to say that we've enjoyed our time with him and he was on time bla bla....just in one word....recommendation.
if i know my clients username here i just log on and give him a reference just to let others know that he was genuine and that i recommend him highly.
this doesnt work for clients to much,is not very useful as we have reviews to state if he was happy overall or not.
but yeah my opinion is that it should be used for often by girls as i do not like to call the girls and ask them if she can give a reference for a guy or not.

if you have many posts or threads open that doesnt make you the perfect client.
and that doesn't gives me confidence with the client but a reference does.
you can write here all night long every day but that doesnt mean that you are clean,respectfull ,on time to the appointment ,etc.
so posts and long time register doesnt help me a lot.
