Poker Stars Senior TT:
Race has been red-flagged during the opening lap following an incident on Bray Hill... will edit this post when more information comes in.
Number 68 involved (Jonathan Howarth, TT newcomer), but he is reported as being okay. Spectators have been injured: 1 seriously and others with minor injuries.
The race will restart when the riders have been brought back by the travelling marshalls.
News update:
Number 68 rider Jonathan Howarth came off his bike after hitting a bump in the road. The bike hit the bump and wobbled before careering into the crowd at the bottom of Bray Hill, on the ride hand side, near the old convenience store. The bike apparently disintegrated on impact. The rider has walked away from the incident, though one spectator has been seriously injured with others having minor injuries. They have been taken to Noble's. 11 spectators in total have been injured, though none are believed to be life-threatening.
The riders are currently being escorted by the travelling marshalls to the Grandstand. There is a planned restart, though no given time yet and no information about whether it will be the full six lap race.
Noble's hospital has to confirm if they can support a full senior race before the race can go ahead.
THE POKER STARS SENIOR TT IS STILL GOING AHEAD!
They are due to start at 4:30pm today and it will run the full 6 laps. Thoughts are (obviously) with those injured today, and keep fingers crossed for an incident-less second run of the senior.
