    Default Prime Time

Did anyone watch Prime Time Investigates programme last night? An undercover researcher posed as a creche worker to secretly film inside three creches. It is very shocking what goes on in these places. Parents leave their children there everyday thinking they are been well cared for. The people that work in these places aren't capable of looking after children. For a start their not trained properly and not paid well enough. Also they don't seem to like children. That's no excuse for them treating these innocent little babies like that. For anyone that didn't see it they tied toddlers in their chair. Shouted at them. Made one sleep on the floor. One woman forcefully grabbed a toy from the child. For some reason RTE decided not to show it on RTE player. The discussion programme is on it but not the documentary itself.

Tied them to a chair? I know you've gotta be pretty deep undercover in order for that show to have been pulled off but I would have to draw the line at tying up.

The wife wants to give up work and mind our child full time since she seen the show, I understand , but cannot afford for her to do that in this climate.

I watched it, and yes, it was quite shocking. However, I couldn't stop myself wondering would those children have been better cared for, if this reporter had not taken the place of a proper childminder. I couldn't help wondering how much of the lack of care, should be atributed to the reporter trying to get a story, instead of minding those kids properly. Had the reporter any childcare qualifications, or did she fake qualifications to get into those creches?

Prime time have never been big on paperwork. They're investigative journalists so tin hats aside tis duty to the public before procedure
What if "It's Raining Men" and 'Let the bodies hit the floor' are both about the same event but from different perspectives 🤔

Didn't watch the programme itself but heard all the talk on the radio today about it. One thing that I noticed was that the H.S.E. are supposed to do checks every year but some had not been inspected in over three years. How much money did the health board give to Ruhama so they could save women that didn't want to be saved. Maybe that money would of been better spent employing another nursery inspector.
Also, these places are quite expensive to leave a child in, so where is all the money going if the workers are low paid. Into the pockets of the owners, and as usual, they are the ones that make all the profit by exploiting a job seeking youth who would rather work there than be on the dole.

It's 900 a month for that Giraffe creche mentioned last night. A lot of hard earned money paid by parents and they expect their children to be in safe hands. After last nights programme parents will now be wondering how safe their children are. I know all creches won't be like that. Prime Time focused on those creches as there were complaints in the past. I hope it can change things for the better. I also hope it doesn't give a bad name to the good creches. Lets not brand them all the same. Things need to change. More regular checks by the HSE. Better training of creche workers. They need to be paid better. The 900 per child seems to be going to profits. There's a lot to be looked into.

In this day and age there is no reason why a crèche cannot use cctv monitoring which can be accessed by parents at any time via the internet
