Thread: abortion

  1. #1

    Default abortion

doctors have rejected abortion, on the basis of rape and incest

these boards are mostly made up of men, and very old school

how in the name of god, have they bloody right to force a woman carry a child out of incest or rape baffles me

same as nuns telling us about bloody sex

Saoirse, you're spot on with "how in the name of god, have they bloody right to force a woman carry a child out of incest or rape baffles me". It seems they want to think that there is no abortion in Ireland, ergo no Irish have abortions. Yet every week scores of Irish women go abroad for abortions.

These women are forced by narrow sighted politicians and religious extremists to go through what I imagine to be a very traumatic experience without support (in many cases). Women who are subjected to the horrors of incest or rape have already been through experiences which I cannot fathom, yet are further victimised by Irish abortion legislation. Sheer madness in my opinion.

i had a friend in collage who was abused by her uncle and he got her pregnent age 15,

her mother found out, he was found out, mother took her to doctor sayin in no way was she having this baby, they said no,
she was told it was still life and she should carry the child, and if it was painful after the birth she could consider adoption,

she went home that night and swallowed a bottle of pills as she says now, that baby felt like her uncle was in her all the time, she cudnt cope, her mother ended up taking her to london for an abortion,

why should an abused 15 year old have to gone through this, after a near decade of sexual abuse, and the state spat on her saying well sorry nothing can be done, her uncle btw was convicted tho so at least that,

its insane, the men who bring this ideal and church who go on with the hypricotrical shit form there pulpits, and then go abuse child, wud want to be raped themselves and forced to keep the child

    it wud soften there coughs

The antiabortionists (I refuse to use the 'pro-life' moniker) are strong political lobbyists, as are the churches. These groups are very vocal in their opposition and as always, the squeeky wheel gets the grease.

Saoirse, sorry to hear about your friend. Unfortunately, it does happen though. With the proposed legislation, the poor girl would have to prove to 2 psychiatrists and one MD that she is suicidal to be eligible for an abortion in the State. I would think that would be a traumatic experience in itself.

but those opposing now are actual doctors, and gps,

family doctors who should know there patients and know, making a woman carry a child when she does not want it, is not right

dont mind saying rape and incest is not acceptable for abortion, its madness

If you became pregnant through escorting, incest or rape, would it the ne justified. Sadly our country is behind in the times .YOU punt in here. If a condom was to break and a lady to conceive , how would you truly feel?

Nobody ever said rape or incest is an acceptable way to conceive a child! Pregnancies trough incest and rape can be easily catered for IN IRELAND by proper medical care!
Ireland is not behind the times on this subject! Quite far from it! Ireland is a civilised society which doesn't permit one human talking the life of another, abortion is no different.

Look at the figures and study the fucking statistics! Less than 1% of abortions carried out in the UK are the result of rape or incest!!!
This spoon fed, always right, still in nappies type of society just want an easy way out!

Unfortunately abortion is wanted as a form of contraception and that's not right.

What if "It's Raining Men" and 'Let the bodies hit the floor' are both about the same event but from different perspectives 🤔
