Default Proposed new law - effects?

How will the proposed new law coming before the Dail this week actually affect clients and escorts?

What will a client be charged with ?

How can it be proven a client had sexual relations with an escort?

Will Gardai have to monitor particular apartments or hotels?

I know should have researched thi myself but time is an issue...

whoha! slow down. this radical approach is gonna be grilled and hotly debated in the Dail and Senead first.
it's constitutionality will need to be appraised. the fact Denmark rejected it is causing concern from
    what i hear.

I'm afraid it's still "watch this space" Bluefan.

We don't know for certain if there will be a change in legislation. If there is a change in legislation it remains to be seen what the law will be (against clients).

And as you've pointed out, even with legislation against escort clients, it will be interesting to see what the severely depleted garda force will do about it.

Dr. Eilis Ward (School of political science NUI Galway) - one of the only opponents to the proposed legislation that was invited to the Oireachtas hearings said " The sex industry has always adapted to whatever change in legislation - worldwide and over time".

So whateverthe changes that may or may not come, you can be damn sure that escorting isn't going to go away. Although we may all have to reinvent ourselves.

Yep I hear you. I did say 'proposed' .... But I think the more we can plan for the eventuality the better. I know a lot of escorts are concerned and have many different ideas about how each would combat the pros all's if they become an eventuality.

So far only Claire Daly and Wallace have intimated they may have issues with the legislation.

Fair point Bluefan, but such suggestions/ ideas should not be discussed in an open forum - as the biggest readers of the forum are the TORL!!!!

We will have to form some sort of private forum for such discussions (either on E-I or in some other social media)

Will be interesting to see the new law.

We will take it from there.

I get payed for my time, what I do with it , is nobody s business.

I provide companionship and not services

    Argue with that.
