John, everyone has to make the effort to keep in touch and if you sit around waiting for people to come to you then unfortunately the way life has gone you will be waiting a long time.
Sam summed it up really, life is passing us all by IMO and if you want to keep in touch with people you have to make the effort, not turn up on peoples doorsteps with a nobody loves me sign around you neck, nobody wants that..
Join in, have the banter, loosing your job must be a cunt and obviously some anamosity is going to spill over onto those left behind / giving the news; try to move on.
